Early this summer I bought the Vatche X prong setting for my fiance's solitair e-ring. Now we are looking at wedding bands, and I'm wondering if anyone out there who has an x prong (or is famiiliar with it) could tell me what you did for your wedding band? Specifically: 1. Did you buy one of the various matching bands Vatche has available for the X prong (they have the bump out to fit the ring near the setting)? 2. Did you buy another ring not made to 'fit' the x prong? Any and all experiences you may have had would be GREATLY appreciated! Here are two matching bands we are looking at, if anyone has others (matching Vatche's or others) feel free to post: http://www.superbcert.com/Shop_By_Product/Jewelry_Details.cfm/P/854/N/2;1 http://www.superbcert.com/Shop_By_Product/Jewelry_Details.cfm/P/855/N/2;1 http://www.superbcert.com/Shop_By_Product/Jewelry_Details.cfm/P/269076/N/2;1 (this one isn't a 'fitting' band necessarily) Thanks in advance!! hello. i have the vatche x-prong. at first i was sure i wanted one of the "matching" bands, but i found them too thick. i ended up getting a prong set diamond band it looks like this one from blue nile: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=4902&catid=126&filter_id=0&nav1=band_channel.asp&page=2&col=3&row=1&pos=3&set_shape= i tried on a similar one in the store and found that with the diamonds prong set and the thin band the gap between the two was not really noticable like it was with a plain band or channel set.

i should add, i didnt like the thickness of the matching band, with the engagment ring plus the matching band, it took up way to much space on my finger. i wouldnt buy the matching band without trying it on first!

I tried the X-Prong setting with a 1 carat double prong eternity band, it was very nice! There's so much metal on the X-Prong it seems to look best with a thin diamond band and Cali is right, the gap is hardly noticeable. Before I make my final decision I want to try it with a thin Pave band
May all your dreams come true. |

We fully intend on trying them on before we buy. We are giong to NYC next week actually and are going to 'shop around' for the right band. Anyone know if Vatche have a showroom? It's great to hear from someone who has the X prong and a non-matching band. I was worried it wouldn't 'fit' right, but you've eased my mind. THanks so much!!

I just got in my wedding ring. It's just a 2.5 mm comfort fit ring from Blue Nile. They don't sit totally flush, but I don't think it's really noticeable. It doesn't bother me. I wanted to have a regular band so I could wear it on its own (and also because that's what my fiance preferred).

Ohh Cali! Your wedding band is so pretty! I am considering the Vatche X-Prong, and I am a little concerned about not being able to wear the "matching" band by itself, because of the curve. I was wondering you have any hand pictures of your X-Prong with your wedding band that you could post? I would love to see how they look together! Thanks so much!

Buster_DL: You asked: "Anyone know if Vatche have a showroom?" In addition to contacting Vatche directly, you can go to their website at www.dvatche.com and search for jewelry stores in your area that carry the Vatche line. Hope this helps! thanks! sadly, no hand pictures . The wedding ring is waiting for me back in the states (i live abroad), all i've seen is the pciture! only a few more months though. I have tried on similar rings, like I said, the gap is basically unoticable, but the best part is the 4 prongs of the x-prong are mirrored in the 4 prongs holding the small diamonds on the band. the two rings look like they were made for eachother!i got my wedding ring not from blue nile but from Wink.

The FW and I looked at wedding bands briefly admidst our planning. And she liked the plain 2-2.5mm band. It seemed to sit flush enough and not take up too much space on her finger. She has the plat. x-prong w/ Jubilee. VH (aka GroomZilla) |
