Hi, Please help I need some opinions on the following: Would you rather have, 1. A 1.25 carat round brilliant solitaire with a full circle diamond wedding band or 2. A 1.50 carat brilliant solitaire with a plain wedding band with no diamonds. Please help, I'm stuck between the two.

Diamonds on the engagement ring and the band seem to be very popular right now. If you have a plain engagement ring, depending on how big the diamonds are on the band, it may take away from the look of the diamond on the engagement ring. I would either have no side diamonds on either band, or side diamonds on both. Just my thought. The bearman |

#2 HANDS DOWN!!! It's all about the center stone baby!!! Plus, it will make a nice 1st anniv. present to have your plain band melted down and made part of your new diamond band LOL

I totally agrees with the both of them. If the diamonds on the side of the band is too big, you do NOT want them to take away the attention of the center stone. Unless your center stone is like 1/2 a carat then u might need some smaller stones to make it look a little more sparkly. Otherwise, the solitaire alone is enough. If it's a nice stone to begin with, I rather have nothing next to it. Solitaire it is!!! Hope this helps!

MMM said it best. I vote for #2 also. With a plain wedding band, the 1.50 ct stone will really pop. After I married websailor, I wore a plain 2 mm wedding band with my e-ring until recently (when I had my eternity band which I hadn't worn for 15 years sized to fit my expanding finger). With the plain wedding band, I noticed the center stone more. With my band of diamonds, the center stone can get lost with all of the other diamonds around it. Just my opinion.

#2 for sure![]() I think that it is timlessly classy, plus I believe it will showcase the diamond a lot better than when it is surrounded by lesser rocks, in which case your centerpoint can get lost in the less superior stones.

Plain, Tiffany-style bands just don't do it for me. Plus, my fingers are small so even a 1.25 would look pretty large. Sooooo, I'd go with #1. #2, though, would be more impressive.

I'd rather have # 2. I think it looks classic and the stone will REALLY stand out. 1.5 RBs are gorgeous alone!

#2 for sure. You can get an anniversary or eternity band later.

BOTH! A 1.5c with the diamond band. I personally don't like plain bands. I don't think that diamonds that are "in" the band take away from the center stone at all e.g. chanel or pave. However, I would choose a solitaire over a three-stone ring. Three-stone rings, IMHO, take away from the center stone once you get to a center stone over 1c. For smaller center stones it is different.
