I am looking for a very nice (willing to pay up to $1000) blue topaz necklace.  I was thinking of buying a stone or two and having a jeweler I know make the necklace.  Where could I buy the stone?  Need it within a week or so.

Not much can get blue topaz to be that expensive, unless you get some fine cut, or unusual size and color link...

The two below come from Acstones.com - more wearable sizes, but definitely not 1k.

Creativegem.com (where the second link comes from) lists just about every color that got a tradename attached - worth looking for reference, IMO. Given the leisurely availability of this material. very fine  and artistic cuting is often done in topaz. You may also want to run a search for "concave cut" on Pricescope for some more options of the kind.

Hope this helps :)

I don't see much topaz at Dutton's (some pairs about $30 ). Am I missing something ?

I ment to comment that he has access to some really awesome concave cut pieces as well can get a lot more stuff than is on his website.
Also he tends to be a little cheaper on the exact same stones than some other places.
IE. on stones from pala and other places.
Plus Gary is a great guy to work with.
