I looking at 2 asscher diamonds within my budget...but here's the differance: One is F color and SI1 clarity - 2A grade cut The other is H VVS2 - 3B grade cut Which would you choose. Thanks

I would choose the F SI1 provided that it's eye clean. You have to be careful with step cut diamonds though, they more easily show inclusions. Have you seen the inclusion plot to see where they are and of what type?

Yes I've seen the plot, there is a clear/white feather in the top right corner and that's it.

Well, normally you would want to make the cut (thus a 2A v. a 3B) and color (F v. H) the priority over the clarity. But pearcrazy is correct in pointing out that with step-cuts you have to pay extra care to what is visible since the faceting isn't "forgiving" as it is with other cuts. If you think it looks "clean" enough to your eye, I would much rather have the better cut (which may account for why it looks cleaner) as well as defintely would want an F color over an H.
