I am looking at a Radiant Cut diamond to use in an engagement ring for my Fiance.

We found the following, it had a very slight inclusion at the bottom of the diamond but was not visible to the naked eye. Whilst it appeared to have a decent cut we are unsure now as it doesn't quite fit into the table parameters on the pricescope site for a radiant/emerald diamond of good cut.

If anyone could offer advice as to the cut/dimensions/value for money it would be great. The grading was GIA certified. Here are the specs:

RADIANT CUT DIAMOND
1.71 CT
VS2
F COLOR
7.07MM X 5.93MM X 4.97MM
DEPTH 83.8%
TABLE 69%
GIRDLE MEDIUM - SLIGHTLY THICK
CULET NONE
POLSIH GOOD
SYMMETRY GOOD
FLURO NONE

PRICE: USD$14,595 EX TAX

Hi Baelish,

Are you sure Depth is 83%? It sounds too deep.

Price wise it is rather expensive. I did a search for Radiant 1.71-1.79/F/VS2 from the front page and got results from $10k to $13k maximum.

Yes it was 83.8%, does seem a little deep doesn't it...

*sigh* the search continues *grin*

Also on Radiants, is Thick to Very Thick Girdle too much?
