I came across this 1.1 Carat (1.40cts. total) ring set in a platinum mounting ring by Asprey. The mounting is stamped with the trademark. The center round brilliant diamond measures 6.5 x 3.0mm (I think that's what is says - the certificate was a bit blurry in the email he sent) Color:F Clarity:VVS1 Proportions/Symmetry/Polish: Good The asking price for the ring is $4000 - it's from an antique store. Do you think this is a fair deal or would I be paying for the name. What do you think about the diamond based on the information. Thanks so much. |

The measurements seem off. You say it's a round brilliant cut stone. With those measurements, you are looking at a 46% depth, way too shallow. Maybe you can call and they can read the measurements. If there are different measurements than the blurred email and the depth is closer to 60% and the other measurements are close to normal, It's a steal. Get it and if need be get it recut to ideal proportions. Shouldn't cost too much but it would be worth it. The bearman |
