Some jeweler told me that if I got a six prong setting, a lot of light would be blocked and the diamond wouldn't be as bright or sparkly. Is this guy full of it or is there a noticable difference?

I think it's time for a new jeweler. The setting may make a difference if you are buying a poorly cut diamond.

Was he going to mount the diamond upside down? Or use really big prongs that cover the diamond?
