Does anyone know a good source. The pricescope.com database is about as close as I can get to a selection, but even the few I found that meet my requirements are probably a combination of generic asschers (square emeralds) and the real deal. My hope is to find someone that lists a selection online.

HI Orange-
If you are looking for the branded stone, I think you'll need to to go to an "autherized dealer" type situation.
I do not believe that any of the Asschers on Pricescope are of the branded vartiety.

I'm sure that there are dealers that may have accumulated a nice selection of Asschers- but that is a lot more rare than dealers who have a large selection of rounds, for example. Despite the popularity of Asscher cut diamonds, I do not see very many on the market.

I haven't seen any branded versions during my search. They are very hard to find. It's even harder to find one that has a nice sized windmill and that isn't immediately recognizable as a square emerald.

I believe that the branded ones are trademarked as "Royal Asschers". Perhaps if you Google the term you could get a list of authorized dealers. In my neck of the woods, they are carried by some of the non-chain retailers.

I'm currently waiting on a call from Fabrikant, the sole US distributor.  My hope is they will identify a good retailer.  Based on what I've read on the net, it might even be possible to custom order one.  In the grand scheme of things, this is a very difficult stone to find.  99 out of 100 people that say they have asscher's probably don't know or don't care that they actually have generic asschers...in my opinion.  I don't see how it could be any different given how hard it is to find one in a good size (i.e., 2.5 carats+).

Mednikow in Atlanta sells Royal Asschers. Jay Mednikow is a good, upstanding guy. No generic asscher really compares to the real deal. It's not just that distinct octagonal effect, but it's also the extra facets that give an RA a unique, pool-like depth.
