Hello everyone ![]() No, this isn't the usual "what is fluorescence/will it make my stone look oily/will it lower the value of the stone?" question! The thing is, I like fluorescent diamonds- A LOT. I like them so much that I would not consider purchasing a diamond if it were not fluorescent. I am looking for a fun ring (1/4 to 2/5 ct., not a big stone) for my right hand, and it is fairly time-consuming to pick through many databases of diamonds to see which are and are not fluorescent. I know some sites list this information, but some don't. Can anyone recommend some sites for me that DO list all pertinent fluorescence information, or that let you search for it specifically? Or -gasp!- are there any vendors who specialize in fluorescent diamonds? (Oh, my fiance will HATE this...) Thank you in advance for any help ![]() Stephanie "You will never be lost, or, if you are lost, you will always be able to find yourself again." Thomas Simmons, "A Season in the Air" |

I too am in a similar situation where I would like a very well cut stone at a modest size of .25-.45cts for a man's tension setting. Being the scientist that I am, I am fascinated by natural stones with phenomenon like fluorescence. It has been rather tedious to search out stones specifically with high levels of blue fluor (MB-SB). Hopefully someone out there knows of a resource that lets one search for that parameter too....
Thanks,
Scott

Fluorescence is usually indicated on the certification so you would need to find a vendor with copies of certs on there websites. If you are looking for smaller uncertified stones perhaps you can speak to a Pricescope vendor and request he chooses one for you. Johan Diamond Exchange Ltd. (Australia) |

Indeed, my method now is simply corresponding with different vendors, letting them know what I'm seeking and seeing if they can come up with something. ---------------- Easy The PS search engine list the degree of fluorescence ('slt'=slight, 'stg'=strong, 'mb'=medium blue, etc). There are no uncertified pieces there, but quite a few 30 pointers. Give it a try ? Since there is a slight (average) discount fo fluorescence in the colorless range while PS much of the folk love it, one could say that this is one www place that 'speacializes' in diamonds with fluorescence.
