I am in need of some advise. I have searched long and far and now I am lost. Is this a good stone? I know its probably not the cheapest on the net but is it a good price compared to a brick and mortar shop?

Princess Cut

weight: .96
cut: very good
color: H
clarity: VS2
depth %: 67.3%
table: 72%
symmetry: very good
polish: excellent
girdle: thin to slightly thick
cutlet: none
Fluor: none
measurements: 5.72 x 5.44 x 3.66
lenght/width ratio: 1.05

Price: $4050.00

Thank You. Your help is greatly needed!!!!

If it's a princess, you can do better. Look for a stone with the table smaller than the depth (3-5% smaller if possible). If you're really interested in this stone, make sure you get the crown and pavilion info (you want a crown of at least 10%) from a Sarin Report or other analysis. Also, if possible get an ideal scope image to examine the light leakage. if the stone you found is an exception to the rule (table smaller than depth rule) these tools will let you know.

If you decide to keep looking, here's a stone that has SERIOUS potential to be a winner: Princess

just as an fyi, the L/W on *your* stone is 1.05...

here's a "for example" of what you could get for the same amount of money 1.12 H VS1 tho the price on the one you posted isn't egregiously overpriced

I think your length to width is off...

I'm not loving the stone or the price. The table is a bit higher than the depth. I would much prefer this stone, eventhough the BScope could be better (but I have to admit, I hate concentrated areas of dark e/t I know it's necessary...) Expect it to look a lot smaller than your stone

researcher also posted a nice diamond and she's correct that you'll need more info before you can tell if *your* stone's a winner... a sarin & idealscope shot would be terrific if you could get them?

this princess cut chart may also help you in your search

John,
You should check into the stones we posted--all of them--before making a decision. The various vendors (Mark at Engagement Rings Direct, Jonathan at GOG, and Denise at White Flash) will all provide you with all the information you need to made an educated decision. One thing you have to remember is you can sometimes see an inclusion in a VS1 and not in an SI1 (as MMM has taught us), or have a stone that shows more color than another. You therefore can't just go by the numbers.

researcher,
I am trying to find a stone and a setting in the same place. The setting I'm looking for is platnium or 18k white with two pear or trillion diamonds on the sides. the stone i'm looking for is .9 - 1.0, $5000 to $5500 total budget.

I'm fairly certain any of the vendors we listed either have that design in stock or could have it made Mark's custom-made two rings for me...

Nice finds w the settings but the stones above i'm not wild about...
* the 1.03's crown height's too low & sym's only 'good' (i'm fussy i guess cuz i only look at vg or ex for sym/pol).
* the .97's inclusion scares me it's big n black n in the middle of the table
* the .90's girdle varies too much (& ext thin isnt desirable in princesses) & the pol/sym's *only* good....

i know.... picky picky picky
