Hello,
I have a couple of hopefully quick questions.
Does anyone know if I should have custom made setting in platinum or if pre-made is OK and why? and if premade- where should I get it? (I live in NYC and it is for a three stone radiant). how much will it be? and can I buy it without side stones too and buy all three separate?

2 - is this a good price for a diamond:

Radiant (Cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant)
measurement: 6.44 x 5.19 x 3.69 mm
Weight : 1.09 carat

Depth 71.1 %
Table 72%
Girdle - slightly thick to thick
culet - none

polish - very good
symmetry - good

VS2
F
Fluorescence - none

GIA Certified

Thanks in advance.
Thomas

Most diamond dealers have settings available at competitive prices, you might want to check with the person you are buying the diamond from first. As for a custom setting, I think it really depends on what you are looking for. If you see a pre-made setting available that you like it will probably be a lot less expensive than getting one custom made. For platinum I have heard to make sure that it is at least "950" (95% Pure Platinum and 5% Iridium). I have no idea about the pricing on the stone, you will have to see if someone else has an answer.

It looks like a similar diamond (1.1 F VS2) ranges between $5379 and $6189 if you do a search.

So what is the price for this diamond?

In the internet you can expect $5,000-$6,000 for similar carat-color-clarity.

Larry, you're quick and right as usual

Thanks, Larry - I am buying it direct from a wholesaler who knows nothing about where to get rings. He's doing me a favor because he is a friend.

Anyone have any idea where online or in NYC I can get a premade setting in platinum for 3 stones. Would I just have to give them the dimension of the center stone? or all 3?
Thanks!

I bought my setting from www.diamond.com Their website says that you have to buy a diamond with the setting but if you ask they will sell the setting seperatly.

Not bad :)

Setting... what kind of 3-stone setting do you want? Do you have anything specific in mind?

do a search on Google for 3 stone engagement rings
