so i've recently determined that i will probably have to wear my w-band on my right hand (due to the shape of my e-ring setting). i am OK with this, because i figure it gives me a unique opportunity to collect more bling!

mainly thanks to jennifer and a picture of ashley judd i saw in the new glamour, i've become intrigued by the thought of accumulating (over time of course!) a few eternity or 7/10 stone bands of different sizes/shapes/designs/and perhaps even colors to stack on top of one another on my ring finger. problem is, i'm having trouble visualizing what kinds of rings would look good stacked together in this manner. for ex, i think i'd definitely like a RB shared-prong eternity band similar to the one noobie and chrono have. would an asscher or princess eternity band look strange next to the RBs? might a round cut sapphire or ruby band look better? or even a thin pave band?

i obviously have just about forever to figure this out, but i'd like to get some opinions, and pictures if possible--are you out there JLFO!?

Reena,

Stacking rings, or stackables as some call them is one of the hottest trends right now, not just with diamond bands but colored stones as well. Mix and match is in.

Reena,

That is exactly where I'm headed once my e-ring and wedding bandS are ready. I have 2 princess cut (chennel) wedding bands being made so I can "sandwich" them with a gem stone band in the middle. From this I can have all kinds of color gem to alternate with, adding different colors to my finger. I don't have any picture to show you YET (sorry), but when the rings are done, i'll be sure to post here.

I think that any combination of rings would look fine. It's your choice

I've come across some pics I thought you might be interested in:

I just love finding more eye candy!! Those stackable rings sure look YUMMY!! Let me take a few of those "sandwishes" P-L-E-A-S-E....

I just shared this website with my bf and he is interesting in knowing more about them. I just placed an order of Hidalgo brochure. May we all should start collecting. How much fun we can have with interchanging them everyday...!! Let's change our rings like we change our panties. One for each day of the week! Hey... not a bad idea...!

Oh boy. I get blamed again. I love stacking rings. Here is my new ering with the former 1.52 ct stone with several different wedding bands--it might be of some help. I personally didn't like the princess eternity (now a bangle) with the RB ering....but maybe different styles would work differently??? I also have the 5 stone princess band (60 pointers) and I really don't like it stacked with RB rings...believe me, I tried it.

Now, I have 2 eternity bands left, both shared prong--my new 3.8 ct one with 20 pt RBS and a 2.4 ct one, 10 pt RBs, in yellow gold, which look really nice stacked, especially when I want to go two-tone and wear yellow gold jewelry sometimes. I have tried on a lot of combos and my personal taste is to keep the stone shapes the same...different styles and sizes are ok but it starts to look, I don't know--odd, when it's too different. That's just my opinion, though.

I'll take new pictures of my bands but I just painted my nails so it'll have to wait until tomorrow or Sat.

Same stuff, different perspective.

I don't have the 6, 30-pointers in YG anymore (trade in towards new eternity to match ering upgrade) and the princess eternity is now the bangle--and the impetus of that decision was b/c it didn't look right with anything esle at that point--I had gotten it to stack and it was unstackable!

The 4 stone RB and 7 stone RB look really nice together--pple always compliment me on that combo when I wear it. That's my "food shopping" set now.

WOW We finally get to see the new "stack". Been anxiously waiting for it. Beautiful collection Jennifer.

Out of curiosity, what's the largest number of carats you have worn at one time?

Actually, this is an old picture--the recycled band is in there and the 6-stone that got traded in towards the new eternity band. bye bye!

I will get a new picture soon...I am waitig for the 5-stone princess band to come back from resizing. There have been some issues and it's taking a while.

Well, since we're going there...I don't think this would work as a band...but I've loved it forever...bordering on the cutsie and cheezy, but I can't help it !

oh my word! J-Flo, i am speechless! your rings are just overwhelmingly gorgeous. i knew i'd get some good pics out of you!

i think i agree with your assessment--it's better to stick with one shape stone. i have never been a big RB person but for some reason i really like the look of a shared prong RB eternity ring, even more so than say one with asschers or princesses. (plus i think the RBs might actually better compliment my cushion cut, even though it will be chillin' on my other hand.) what do you think about stacking two very thin eternity rings with smaller RB stones around an eternity ring with bigger RB stones?

You need to look at the stacking bands by Leslie Green. She used to be partners with Penny Preville as "Leslie and Penny". They split up and started their own lines, I love Leslie's stacking rings. I know Saks Fifth Avenue carries them, I don't know who else. I have had trouble getting on her website, but the rings are of different shapes and very beautiful!

sorry MMM, I couldn't help myself with Hidalgo rings.  I would love to own 1 of those cuties, but they are very pricy.  With so many designs/colors/styles... where would I begin to choose?  I think I'll just drool for a while...

I just got my e-ring too and am wondering what to do about the wedding ring. I have a tapered shank so I know I don't want to stack my rings. Are you supposed to switch the e-ring to the right hand and wear the w-ring on the left? Or just put the w-ring on the right hand? Does it matter?

All I know is I'm thinking more diamonds on the wedding ring

Wow!  That's it!  How about two colors ?  White and fancy diamonds perhaps...  I think there is something close (a Rio Know ring) with whites and pinks on Garry's site
