The fine print in the HCA analysis says it applies to diamonds with a medium girdle. Yet many diamonds with good dimensions are "thin" or "thin to slightly thin". I see few that are "medium". Should I be concerned about this? If so, how much should I discount a diamond with a thinner girdle when its HCA scores are otherwise OK?

Girdle thickness makes little difference to optical performance, but it does affect the HCA spread component which has about a 20% weighting factor on HCA results. read about it all here Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |
