I want to impress the lady with a nice rock... However, my budget is about $7,000 and this rock is $7654... Is it worth going $600 over my budget for this diamond? It seems like a really good deal, but what do I know... GIA Certified w/ Laser Inscribed serial number: Princess Cut 5.85x5.85x4.21 1.21 carats Depth = 72% Table = 72% Crown = 9.5% Girdle = Slightly Thick to Thick Culet = None Polish = VG Symmetry = VG Clarity = VVS2 Color = F Fluorescence = None Click here to see Diamond All advice is appreciated! |

Run that through the HCA as well. (Cut Advisor) and see what the number is. Personally Id go lower on clarity. You can go bigger if you drop to a VS2

---------------- I agree, no need to blow you budget if you drop your color and clarity a bit. focus on a great cut. Todd(aka Ricardo, aka Cowboy) |

I agree. It's a nice stone...but I'm sure there are stones just as nice out there...and the crown is a BIT low...so I'd go to a v2 or up the color

My question is, can you afford the extra $600? If it's no big deal, go ahead. If it means you might not make your next rent payment, then definitely not.

i can afford the extra $600, but i am just wondering if the diamond is worth breaking my budget... if it is a great deal, i have no problem paying higher. I just dont want to regret spending the extra on a stone that is not worth the expense. Thanks for all of the responses.

---------------- Hi Carat top, You've picked a "best in class" stone from a reliable PS vendor (signature series from DCD). You can take it to the next step with confidence and have it reviewed by an independent appraiser. Todd(aka Ricardo, aka Cowboy) |

It says, "This item has already been ordered." So either you made the plunge (congratulations!), or somebody else got it so that's a sign that it wasn't meant to be and you can stay within budget.

C'mon Carat Top, Who are you kidding? I'm sure you could afford it with that great job hawking 1-800-COLLECT. Go for it! (But why a princess?) You should check out the Hearts on Fire Dream, IMHO. Have a great day |
