I have a pair of 1ctw. siamond stud earrings that I bought from the maul before I new better. Is it worth having them recut? How costly is it to recut and are they just to small to bother with.

Cutting in the US is fairly expensive and time consuming. You will also need to have someone pull and reset the stones and ship them to and from the cutter. There are also some breakage risks associated with the process. It's almost certainly not going to be economically reasonable. If you really are interested, you should talk to an appraiser in your area and get an evaluation of what improvements are possible with your particular stone. Odinsmom: What is the carat weight of each diamond? That will help to determine whether it will be worth your while to recut or not. LesleyH www.whiteflash.com Director of Sales at Whiteflash from 2000-2008 |
