My engagement ring is a bit snug and I was wondering how I might go about having it made larger. I believe it is a 6 3/4 right now and might have to go up to a 7. Will the entire ring have to be redone or is there a way to stretch it and make it larger. The ring is platinum. Thanks.

Rings are resized buy cutting the back of the band and adding a piece of platinum. The join is made with platinum solder, or in some cases by simply fusing the platinum at very high temperature. This is a normal everyday simple process, most jewellers can complete this task in 30 minutes or less. Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |

Really? Thanks, that's a relief, I was worried that it would be some sort of a production. It's a knife edged band, don't know if that matters. I won't be able to look at it and tell that it was changed, right?
