Hi All, I have inherited a pair of solitares VS1,1.4 c,I light I would like 2 sell them all I am getting is offers 45% discount to rappaport rate how much should be the fair discount?? I would really appreciate your help. Confused Mihir

Need more info before passing judgement. Any idea of table, depth? Many stones with EGL certs are 45% below rap to the public, they are just not cut very well. If they are average to above average cutting, 45% below rap would be a fair price to get paid from a dealer or jewelry store. Most would want a detailed report or appraisal before offering money on a stone.

Mihr, Selling diamonds is difficult but not impossible to do as a consumer. There are several threads on this topic. There are several other pieces of information that will be helpful before giving you advise. What is your source of that grading information? Is there any cut related information available? Did the offer come from dealers or other consumers? In general, Rap-45% is a pretty reasonable offer.
