To get the maximum sparkle and fire, it's my understanding that the quality of cut is most important. Seeking some feedback on the the quality of the diamond and metal recommended for earrings.

What quality of cut have you been most happy with? Do I need to go all the way and get H&A or 1A or ok to go to 1B for earrings? Of course i want to get the largest size my budget allows, though would much rather have smaller if it's most impt to get the best of best cuts.

What about white gold vs platinum on earrings?

I will go to a store and have a look and then contact an online vendor to get them from. In the meantime, seeking your feedback on what you have, recommend, or wish you had gotten instead.

I just want one pair of really nice earrings, not an upgrade type of gal. I want to put them in my ears and just wear them all the time. I love that look.

Well, I am nor very sure how the Harts and Arroes standard relates to AGA's A1 and A2! I bet that both A1 and A2 diamonds could actually show harts and arrows for what that matters. These are not steps of quality on the same scale... if I get this right.

You would not need the msot precise harts and arrows pattern to end up with two brilliant stones. If anything, two with larger tables than teh AGS0 limit (say up to 60%) and high HCA score woud do nicely. if anything, these stones would have high liglt return and less fire - but this is not undesirable for earrings - you'd get some strykingly bright stones where the subtleties of scintillation and fire will likely not be as obvious. I think this was talked about a bit in one of the Ideal Scope newsletters (about BIC diamonds).

Such stones would appear with HCA around 2 listed as "Very good" on the search engine for diamonds with known HCA, or among the "Ideal Cut" at Dirt Cheap diamonds... for example. But it may be even easier to ask a seller to match a pair of near ideals.

Just my o.2, of course.
