Ok, first of all I couldn't have been happier with the service of DCD (thank you Jennifer Norbury!) and the stone and ring were beautiful.

But seeing as I'm a guy, I always kind of looked at the ring as a classic Mustang that I could have bought.

Anyway, I took the ring to get appraised today (Thom Underwood in San Diego-great guy by the way) and first of all he said it actually graded out 2 levels better on the colorscope than the GIA cert, which he said NEVER happens. Of course he couldn't change the cert grade, but even with using the GIA color grade it got a retail (brick and mortar) appraisal of over 155% of what I paid. Also, he almost fell to the floor when I told him what I paid because he said it was actually about 15% BELOW wholesale (black book/guide).
