help! for my anniversary, my husband wanted me to pick out a diamond wedding band - i have a princess cut solitaire (x setting) and really liked the common prong princess eternity...however - i was told that the round is a better choice. advice? would the round eternity look ok w/ the princess cut? does anyone have anything bad to say about the princess cut common prong? (a jeweler was the one to give this advice about the round over the princess)

No idea... there seem to be no rules; at least i do not know of any. The only technical questions I would have is: is it safe to set princess cuts in shared prongs? Those corners are notoriously fragile... so, maybe the prongs must get biger to protect them? This is straight enough for larger stones when the V-prongs (or larger ones) are used, but I am not su sure what is done to protect the tips of princes cuts in a shared prong setting ![]() And... have you seen THIS site ![]() Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen."
