I received my beloved's ring today, and the stone is wonderful. Although not an AGS ideal or branded stone, it displays a clear start pattern in the center and handles light beautifully. It is a 1.15 carat G color SI1 GIA certified but with a Sarin report indicating AGS ideal proportions. No discernible color and no visible inclusions from the top, one visible to my very close microscopic/myopic vision when viewing the ring upside down. The HCA 0.4 score was the key though. In direct sunlight it comes alive.

Thanks for the HCA, to everyone for their help on my questions and for this forum. I didn't have to ask too many questions because most of them were answered by searching old posts.

This forum was an invaluable resource.

Thanks!

Just as stars come out at night, the eight pointed star pattern is more visible in dim light.

It's just plain nice.
