Just wondering....

I just got my FABULOUS ! OMC diamond ring this weekend...and I noticed a couple of things:

1) There is a "hole" in the setting under the center (solitaire) diamond. On the shank surrounding the centerstone, on either side, are six pave diamonds. My question is this: These pave diamonds don't have a "hole" underneath them in the setting. Is this normal? I'm assuming pave's have no "hole" because they are, by definition, pave, and need no "hole".

2) Although I know my ring is platinum, there is no stamp inside the ring that says "Plat" is THIS normal? I think the jeweler just forgot... ???

Thanks for your help!

If your ring doesn't have the 'Pt' stamp, it's probably not platinum. Depends on how the sales presented you what the 'platinum' really mean. One of my friend paid extra $400 to upgrade his e-ring from white gold to platinum, and his ring got no stamp on it neither. However, there's a legal liability for stamping the platinium mark on the ring. So, we checked out other no-name stores and also reputable stores. We found out it could mean "platinum-plated" instead of the real platinum like PT900/PT950. My friend got ripped off and couldn't return for refund since he bargined no sales taxes with no receipt. Big mistake.

Uh-oh!

I'd better check this out, then...not sure if my DF got a receipt, but I do know that he paid in cash/no tax!

Yikes!

It's antique "style"...

It's a 1.25 c OMC, one side is a big longer than the other (so it looks VERY slightly rectangular), and I had it set with the long side across my finger (I think it makes it look a bit bigger that way )

It's a very thin band, about 2mm, and the diamond is set pretty low, with some engraving on the basket, prongs, and shank. There are also about 6 pave diamonds on either side (not sure about the carat weight)

I love it!!! So much fire! I can't stop looking at it. (small voice): I want more OMC's!
