Hi everyone. I'm brand new to the site. I've had a blast reading through prior posts! I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the crown lace collection by Michael b (platinum bands with interspersed bead set diamonds). It is the most beautiful setting I have come across so far, but I don't feel like spending $6000 for the set! Has anyone seen anything similar elsewhere? Thanks.

People will try to mimic Michael B, but I have yet to see a good replica, or any for that matter. Michael B rings are very labor intensive and are known for their crafstmanship. Its funny you bring up Michael B, because the Michael B I ordered for my soon to be fiance just came today. I have yet to see it as I am still working. I went with the three-sided pave with 1.50 carats and added diamonds up the prongs (but not on top of the prongs). Michael B rings are very expensive but they are also very unique. It you could afford it, I would go for it. If not, I am sure you can have something beautiful made from a well reputable jeweler for a fracation (not too big) of the cost. Good luck with your search. I would contact Bill Pearlman at Pearlmans Jewelers in Michigan. I ordered my Michael B from him and he was very knowledgeable about the Michael B line and might be able to recommend alternative, less expensive designers. Good hunting.

Thank you for your reply John. I'll try Pearlman's. Congrats on your upcoming engagement. I'm sure your ring is fabulous!

I love that setting also!! I know it is very expensive, but I would be very careful having someone try and replicate it. I have seen jewelers try to make things that are not quite as nice as the original. I also don't know about the copyright on the designs??? Anyway, I would try and bite the bullet and spend the extra money to get what you really love. It is a lifelong investment you will wear every day!![]() I will probably do the same...

Does anyone know if the pave settings hold up over time? I'd hate to be dealing with missing stones all of the time.
