Stuller does not have a platinum head for a pear-shaped diamond with 5 prongs and a V tip.  They only carry the 5-prong in white gold.  Where else can I find one?

I am looking at the Stuller Findings catalog , try stock #1263 (approx $166 retail), Pear setting with v-end, or stock #2737 Pear Peg Setting with V-end (approx $154), both are available in Platinum in sizes up to 2 carats.

Thanks MA and Cflutist.  I actually have one of those heads now.  I guess I should have called what I am looking for a 4-prong with a V tip (I consider the V a prong).  I have seen them in white gold, but I am set on platinum.  Sounds simple doesn't it?  I looked at the Stuller catalog, and I don't see one.  Any suggestions?

How about Stuller #438, sizes up to 2 ct available in Plat. This is 4 prong plus V-tip.

This is the closest thing I have seen.  Thank you.  I definitely like the basket type head better than the peg type head, but I'll have to make sure the basket will work for the setting I'm designing.

It is a no brainer for a decent platinum jeweler to hand make a correct platinum setting that suits you. I have always wondered why Stuller didn't make such a setting as they are perfectly acceptable and safe.... Probably some other source does have one ready made, but I don't know where. Truthfully, the Stuller 6 prong could be altered to a 5 prong style by a good platinum worker. You'd never see that it had been modified.

It turns out the two findings companies do have 5 prong (including the V tip) settings in platinum.

Thanks, David.  I'm still working out some of the issues I talked with you about recently.  I'll speak to my jeweler about T&W and Keystone.  Do they have websites?
