Hi all, I have been posting on here for a couple of weeks and I appreciate all the help from everyone that has responded to my questions. I am almost set on a diamond and setting and I wanted to get the opinions of anyone that my want to add something. I originally set out to create a ring similar to the Tiffany Lucida. I have been looking at a Jubilee cut stone from GOG. If you want to check it out it is the .56 stone. The setting would be the x-prong from Vatche. Jonathan at GOG has been very helpful and this seems like the right move for me. I had hoped to find a local jeweler that I could deal with, but I have had trouble finding anyone that I care to do business with. Does anyone have any comments/suggestions? Am I missing anything?

That's a very nice Jubilee. I looked at buying it earlier this Summer but ended up getting a larger one instead. I also looked at the Vatche x-prong setting but decided on Vatche's new double prong x-prong setting. I should get it this week or next. GOG and Jonathan have been great to work with.

John-do you have a picture of the new double prong from Vatche?

Here's the description that Vatche gave to Marie at GOG: "This ring has a tapered shank, more like the Royal Crown shank than the x-prong shank. The ring is aprox 2.3mm on top at the head and tapers to 3.3mm in the center and back on the shank. The head is like the x-prong that criss-crosses toward the top and branches off on each of the four prongs to a double prong." I'll post a picture of mine when I get it. ![]()

I would think that any diamond that could be set in a standard x-prong could be set in the new setting as well.
