I am new here...been reading a lot and gaining a lot of information. I am looking to propose to my gf soon and we have been looking at different rings and stones. We finally decided that a solitare with Princess cut diamond would look best on her petite hand. What do you think of this diamond I found online? Should I do it? Shape: Signature Princess Lab: GIA Carat: 1.21 Color: F Clarity: VVS2 Measurements: 5.85 x 5.85 x 4.21 Depth: 72% Table: 72% Crown Height: 9.5% Polish: VG Symmetry: VG Cutlet: None Girdle: Slightly Thick to Thick Fluorescence: None Price: $7,654 Is there any questions that I should be asking the seller? Thanks for any help you can provide! |

Hi JaTe, and welcome! I'm not an expert on princess cuts, but I hope this will at least bump up your post. Researcher and moremoremore are the resident consumer experts in princess cuts around here -hopefully they'll have a better answer for you. Or maybe one of the vendors or appraisers can help out. The only thing I remember hearing (reading) here often is that the best performers in princess cuts seem to have crowns of at least 10% and have slightly greater depths than tables, with top depths no more than 74%. I think. Again, not the expert speaking! Good luck, though, I'm sure someone will chime in here in the next day or two

You need to see the diamonds , before buying look at both side by side and you can then know if a 9% or 10% crown height is affecting the brilliance. Ask the person you are purchasing the diamond from if they have any education in this field. Keep in touch.
