Hi Dan99 Have you seen the stone? That's the best way to tell if it'll be a performer... the large table w that depth doesn't give me too much hope that it'll be a star...I believe the laser inscription is supposed to be a benefit so you can identify your stone... I don't know how beneficial it really is, tho. I found this stone on the PS diamond search engine which *looked* promising by the numbers (if you're at all interested in an i-net diamond)... also the G with the faint flour will make it look more like an F. .90 G SI1 GIA D: 71.4% T: 66% G: m-stk S: vg P: ex Flor: faint 5.25*5.3*3.75 $3227* PS price Here's the link. Good luck w your search!

Hey Dan...I saw that stone on your other post...check my reply! It could be nice....and you can't calculate the crown info... It will have to be professionally analyzed!

Most GIA's don't include crown height/pavillion angles etc.. so what do you do?

No GIA certs give crown or pavillion info. Again, you will need to have it analyzed by a professional. As Waldo mentioned, ask them to give you a sarin report. Not all can do this. I THINK THINK THINK that a jeweler can manually measure the crown ... not sure... but that alone tells you nothing. it's the combo of the crown and pavillion angles that make a great stone with other factors. I think a B Scope and YOUR EYES can help. TRUST YOUR EYES!!!

---------------- Excellent advice mmm. I have to say though ... whenver I hear someone say "trust my eyes", the first thing that runs through my mind is "What is the experience/expertise of the "eyes" doing the picking?" I've seen stones picked by certain self proclaimed "expert eyes" that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. If it were your eyes Helene ... that's a different story. ![]() Rhino |

LOL...let me qualify that...trust your eyes after you educate yourself...get some potentially good numbers and some analysis....!!!
