I am about 4 days away from making a decision on a fancy yellow diamond. Here are the two stones that I am looking at: 1) Fancy Yellow Diamond - GIA Cert 1.02 carat 5.87*5.32*3.67 Depth 69% Table - 64% Girdle - extra thin to very thick Culet - None Polish - Good Symmetry - good Clarity Grade - VS1 Distirbution - even Fluorescence - None 2) Fancy Yellow Diamond - - GIA Cert 1.00 carat 6.29*4.79*3.37 Depth - 70.4% Table - 70% Girdle - Thick Culet - None Polish - Excellent Symmetry - Very Good Clarity Grade - VS1 Distirbution - even Fluorescence - None Price difference is nearly the same - about $200 difference. Out of these two diamonds, which looks better? The differences that I see are the depth and table between the two and then the range in the girdle on the first one (that part scares me a little bit). Any comments would be much appreciated! |

I'm no expert, but what little time I looked at these I found that color tends to be the biggest factor in the value and beauty of these. Secondary modifying hue is important as well. What is the color grade on each stone? light, fancy, intense, vivid? Can you see them in person?

What shape are these yellows? I'm guessing princess? or radiant? I think colored stones are cut differently to retain as much of the color as possible - is there any way you could look at both of these stones together to compare which is more attractive to your eyes? These are two i've been slightly tempted by in my new right hand ring quest... ![]() lab created yellow princess lab created yellow radiant _______________________________________ |

These are both Fancy Yellow diamonds. THey are also both cut cornered rectangular modified brilliant stones. I am getting the supplier to take a look at both of them together on Monday to see which one is brighter to the eye - the one with the most sparkle and color. They are also going to take some pictures on these before I make the final decision.
