The SuperbCert stone is bigger at 7 mms diameter than the Nice Ice one at 6.86 mms and it's $800 less so I like it. It's also a true H&A where the Nice Ice stone is an "almost H&A." Of course, the SC stone is one color lower than the Nice Ice stone. The plot looks a bit cleaner on the Nice Ice one. You are wise to compare the two in person. Maybe one of them will "speak" to you!

Just from the #s I like the NiceIce stone, only because I'm a huge fan of the slightly steeper crown and slightly shallower pavilion combo... I also love colorless stones, though the difference between the F&G should be pretty insignificant in terms of looks, while saving you $.

I like the F SI1 better because it's a better color and the diamond looks more eye-clean for an SI1, but I have to say that I think $8200 for it seems a little steep, since GOG was selling a larger F SI1 for $7900 last week. Maybe you can negotiate the price down a little? It seems like a great stone!

Thanks ChooChoo, I actually thought the same thing myself. I was a little surprised with the price since a similiar stone from NiceIce, although not dead center in the AGS range, was quoted to me at $7500. However that stone turned out to not be 'the one', but everything else was similiar (cut was not as perfect, inclusions were not acceptable for me). And you're right, I was looking to buy that other stone from GOG which was a 1.27. Unfortunately, I was not in a position to bargain since I needed the stone ASAP and I have to give a ton of credit to the people at NiceIce. I requested a stone that I could not find anywhere and they found one that was exactly what I was looking for, just a bit more money though, but still very reasonable, right in the nick of time. They were patient explaining everything to me, they were very nice and most importantly of all, they found me exactly what I was looking for in a very short amount of time. I've already made the purchase, so I don't feel that it is good business to go back and try to renegotiate after the fact. However, I will definately take it into account the fact that I've exceeded my budget when I'm comparing the two stones. NiceIce got me exactly what I wanted, but if for some reason myself, my jeweler and hopefully an appraiser cannot determine a significant difference, it will definately factor into my decision. I say hopefully because I am under a significant time crunch and there seems to be a lack of appraisers around me, San Jose area, that are available under short notice and are willing to take a look on Saturday. But that's a whole nother thread!!!![]() Thanks for all your feedback. This is one of the best websites out there for consumers, period. Now if I could just find a similiar one to get advice about my vet overcharging me and ordering unnecessary medication without my concent just so he can run up a higher bill!!! Bastards!!!

I'd say the superbcert one looks like a better deal to me...
