Hi, My boyfriend and I went to shop for our engagement ring and found a hearts on fire diamond at a local jeweler. We were quoted for $12,500 for a 1.22 ct E color VS1 diamond. It's a lovely stone, but the price is high. My question is, are we paying too much for a diamond of that grade? Thanks so much for your help! Regards, Wendy

Hearts on Fire are nice diamonds, but not special for the money. EightStars are generally less expensive, hand-cut, rare and cut in a unique way as opposed to hearts and arrows diamonds which are nice but all basically similar. Different cutters will tell you why theirs are the best. Hearts on Fire are just another brand of hearts and arrows diamonds with good marketing.
