Hello folks. I am about ready to purchase and have found a diamond that seems to fit well within Class 1A proportions. I need help to verify this. Any help would be appreciated: Carat weight: 0.82 Cut: Very Good Color: G Clarity: VS1 Depth %: 65.5% Table %: 67% Symmetry: Very good Polish: Very good Girdle: Thin to medium Culet: None Fluorescence: None Measurements: 5.33x5.28x3.46 mm Length/width ratio: 1.01 I am ready to buy soon, so any immediate help would be much appreciated. This website is great. Hope to hear from you soon! --JonMichael |

The numbers you posted look like a good start. Is this a stone you've seen in person? If so, how does it look to you? If not, is it possible to get an idealscope picture, the full sarin data, or even just the crown height percentage? Princesses are tough to judge just by the numbers, but with a little more info, you should be able to get a decent idea of the cut of the stone. Best of luck.

There's a chance this stone could be nice, but you have a better chance when the table is smaller than the depth (by 3-5%). As Magnum suggested, you really need the Sarin info (for the crown and pavilion %'s) and an ideal scope image (for light leakage) to judge the actual performance of the stone.

Thank you both for your responses. As the diamond is through an internet vendor, I am not able to get the ideal scope right now. I found the following diamond and am pretty sure I am going to get this one, unless there is some major flaw with the proportions. Depth %: 66.3% Table %: 69% Symmetry: Very good Polish: Excellent Girdle: Thin to medium Culet: None Fluorescence: None Measurements: 5.49x5.28x3.50 mm Crown height: 9.8% Length/width ratio: 1.04 Again, thank you for your help. ![]()

Are you sure you can't get the ideal scope? I bought my ring through White Flash, and they provided me with one.
