Hey Everyone, I was wondering where is a good place to get some good quality gemstone jewelry. I'm interested in getting ruby/garnet earrings or pendants (Looking for gemstones with a blood red look to it). I've seen some nice jewelry at places like bluenile, but I'm concerned that with the styles that come with diamonds because they don't give me a lot of information about the diamond cut on those pendents. Can anyone give me some website that are good to get gemstone jewelry or personal experience with any on-line stores. Here's an example pic of a pendant I liked. Thanks

Hmmm, I don't know, but I'm sure a few other people here will have some ideas. This post might get a lot of responses in the diamond hangout area even though it's about colored stones because it's busier section of the forums.

I happen to know that Wink Jones has some quite lovely stuff (and he seems to be willing to get/make anything he doesn't have on hand!). There is also a "coloured gems" section in the FAQ section about settings... just scroll down a bit

Well let me see, I purchased a few Rubies that were Burmese from a guy with the name of Thrashback on ebay. He never ripped me off either. I ended up with some nice stones from him, but not any sizable diamonds. I like to purchase my coloured gemstones separately from the mounting cause I enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect setting for them. I haven't had alot of luck, cause I like to set all my gems in 14K Y Gold with a heavier weight to them. Not those simple nothing to it Snap it styles.![]()

I can second the nod for Wink. I've bought two beautiful pieces in the past six or seven months. The best part is he carries Richard Homer stones if you love color! |
