Ever wander what it looks like? This must be the most successful picture of the fish eye effect in a round brilliant I ever cam across ! Irresistible to post...

Thanks for posting this valeria! I've always had an idea of what it meant but this picture really points it out.

Now, do you have a picture of a nail head? I think my first stone was a very bad nail head, but of course I don't have any pictures of it.

Ana, funny you should mention that particular stone. I just noticed it the other day, and thought it was a great example of a fish eye.

Patty, here's a link to a stone exhibiting a strong nail head image... Take a look at those smaller pics that you can enlarge... The fourth one shows the effect very clearly.

Giangi, the fourth one that I see (of the small pics) is of fancy shapes. That isn't the one you mean, is it?

AnA,  Do you know what size, color and clarity that stone is? Great example by the way.

Giangi: That stone you posted is sooo ugly

Patty, scroll down just a bit further. The ones of the particular diamond for sale are next to the GIA info.

Shay

P.S. Great examples guys. Thanks

I definitely like the way this shop presentes their stones - the pictures are very clear, for better of for wore. I bet there is a "nail head" among them as well
... but there are some really nice ones too, no reason to discount source at all - this is why I didn't want to identify where the stone comes from.
