Can anyone here recommend a reputable jeweler in the Boston area to buy a platinum and diamond antique-style setting? We will definitely be buying the diamond online, and want a place that will not hassle us about buying the setting only, and that does not charge high prices for designer names. We don't care what the name is, but the quality must be good. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

You can try online, there are alot of vendors who carry the antique platinum look.

Hi,

If you are interested in an estate platinum engagement ring, I'm selling one. Sorry, need to sell it with the mount though. The specs: old european cut diamonds. Center stone: .90, VVS1, J color. 3 small old european cut diamonds on each side. Extremely brilliant and one of a kind piece. This is an old family ring. Had it appraised for insurance purposes in 2001 & appraisal says sale value is $8000. Please reply to this post if you are interested.

Otherwise, I'm a big fan of www.faycullen.com also. If you want a nice shop to check out, there is an estate jewelry store in Portsmouth, NH called Wisteria estate jewelers. Great selection, but overpriced.
