For some reason that seems pretty high to me but I really have no idea.

Where did you find that?

I don't know... the price doesn't seem unreasonable to me (but I haven't comparison-shopped on PS or elsewhere recently)... it is over a carat and a quarter, and it is very good color, and great clarity. Did you run a search on PS for prices of similar stones? That's a great resource.

Is this a B & M purchase? Because even if it is a little more $$$ than say, an internet purchase, you could consider that you are buying more than just the actual diamond... a relationship with a local vendor who can provide cleanings, check-ups, service, etc., through the years.

Just my 2 cents!

Lynn

PS BTW, the #'s look GREAT to me (but I am admittedly NO EXPERT!). I would think this could be an AWESOME stone!

And THAT'S my story and I'm sticking to it!

Wow... those are big price differences, for sure! I would definitely look further, then. (I told you I wasn't any expert! )

Thanks all for your suggestions. I think from looking around here that price does seem high. I found that diamond at SuperbCert.com Maybe thats why the price is higher?

Thanks again.

Well, it's not dirt-cheap, but it's neither that expensive. The fact the stone is a branded H&A plays a major role. The difference between DI's 1.22 stone that someone posted and this 1.29 SC is a bit more than $500/ct, which is not really outrageous for a branded 1.25ct++ stone. You should also consider that 1-1/4 caraters are really scarce at the moment and, being the most sought-after size on the market, the demand is high and pricing may not be as competitive as one may expect.

I have found another diamond that seems comparable to the first but costs less. I'm still waiting for some pics from them to get a better idea of how it looks. Here are the specs from their website.

Report: GIA
Shape: Round
Carat: 1.30
Color: H
Clarity: VS2
Depth: 62
Table: 57
Girdle: M,F
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Cutlet: None
Fluorescence: No
Measurements: 6.98-7.03x4.34
Price: $7,632.00

Does this seem more reasonable? Basically my priorities for the diamond im looking for is that it is clear, clean, and has a lot of sparkle!

Thanks again for all the help.
