From what I have read the following princess cut looks to have a wide table. My question is, would this diamond still reflect back a lot of white light. I believe based on what I have read a large table means I won't get as much colored light. Is it likely a normal person who hasn't been spending the last 3 weeks of his life educating himself on this stuff going to notice the difference between this and another diamond? Does this seem like a good deal, or should I take comparable money and look for a more included diamond with a bit better cut?

Shape Princess
Weight 2.08
Measurements 7.42-7.11 X 5.09
Proportions
Table depth 71.6%
Table width 81%
Crown Height 4%
Pavillion Depth 66%

Clarity VVS2
Color H

Price $12,500

Thanks in advance for you help!

Admittedly, I'm not an expert, especially when it comes to princess cut stones. But from what I do know, the numbers are a little worrisome. The table is a bit large as you said, and the crown height percentage is pretty small. Personally, i woul pass and look for a better cut stone. Also, I would probably try to go up in color to a G, and down a little in clarity to probably a VS2. Color is a little more noticeable in princess stones than round stones, which is why I'd go up to a G. And getting a VVS2 is paying for clarity that you eye just can't see. So, in my opinion, a VS2 is just as good for less money, which also lets you use the saved money to move up in color.

Sorrym but the cut of this stone is pretty much terrible. The table is very wide and the crown is extremely shallow. As you reported, such stone would emit very little fire and look 'tired' if you know what I mean. Not to mention it's neither square nor rectangular.
I would suggest maybe dropping the clarity to a good VS and get a much better cut, with a higher crown. 9% or more seems to be the favorite range.

One more point: is it an EGL graded stone? If it's so, make sure it's properly graded and the cert is not lenient or inaccurate.

I agree! I don't believe that a stone has to be perfect by the numbers (whatever those are!) to be beautiful...but with a table THAT large, it's gotta be a dud. I would keep looking

The crown height is much too low, even if we could stomach the table size. I think you're going to get a glassy, unattractive stone if you buy this one.
