bogus,

yes, there is something wrong you stole the stone for $5100 incluing a platium setting (good for you),the HCA score 0.9 is the stone certified by GIA or AGS? if you find another one like this please e-mail me.

thanx so much for your reply I was beginning to think everyone went to
sleep. Anyway, yes it did come w/a cert but its IGI and with knowing that they can be not so accurate on their grading I took it to a
jeweler/appraiser and without him taking the stone out he verified the
mesurement/color/clarity/girdle and looked at the arrow pattern he validated
the info on my cert. I also called IGI and they said that the stone
had been certified in the Anthwerp?(not sure of that spelling)facility which I have read from some posts that that facility is getting much better
at grading their diamonds. The stone was cut by a company called Rosy Blue
which on another post of mine was said to be a good company.
I purchased from Sams club in California. Thank you for your thoughts I feal alot better. Have a great 4th!

Actually, I'm concerned about the measurements of your stone, too.......they're TOO perfect! Just kidding, of course. All the measurements are right smack dab in the middle of the ideal range, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Some might even say those measurements are in the so-called "super-ideal" range. You'd have to have some really messed up minor facets, or huge variances in the measurements, (both of which I doubt) to turn a stone with those numbers into a poor performer. I'd be more concerned about what posts and books you've been reading that would make you concerned about those numbers. It sounds like a beautiful stone at a steal of a price. Enjoy!

veronica,

i have never been into sam's club to look at the diamonds maybe i should now, but i do shop at costco a lot. their IGI certs don't give this much information ,their 1 ct I VS 2 stones with setting goes for $4300 . i always keep in the back of my mind that igi is not in the same level as gia or ags. if your stone was certified by gia or ags, i'm just guessing it's probably in the $6800 range.your stone definitely has ex specs.

There was some buzz in the news & on PS about Sam's Club getting into ideal cut diamonds. Yes, Costco's IGI certs do not have all this information. I purchased an exceptionally well cut stone w/ an IGI cert w/ as much information as Bogus posted. Perhaps, and this is supposition on my part, IGI may have an extra service where they cert "ideal" stones & give all the crown/ pav. angles, etc.

Also, many of our foreign friends have said IGI, Antwerp is a better lab than the one in NY. This is just info I've seen around PS.

Edited to add: looks like a lovely stone!

Here is a link to Sam's Club Diamonds.

Their Regal Elegance Collection is a collection of IGI certified Ideal cuts. I've never seen the crown or pavillion angles given at Sam's before. Sam's says that their Regal Elegance stones are "at least" an I color and VS2 clarity. I've never seen better than an I, VS2 in the store.

Bogus, was yours in the case at Sam's or did you special order it? It looks like you got a beautiful stone at a great price. Congrats!

does anybody know sams club sells lose stones? based on the ring that bogus bought at $5100 with a platinum setting. i figured the setting would cost $300 so that would make the stone $4800 which comes out to about $4068 per ct. for a h vs1 h&a ,now if i had that stone, and sent it to AGS if they ceritfied it 0 cut I VS 2 it would still be a fair price, any grade above I vs2 with be a bonus,am i missing something here?

hi everyone,
Yes you can special order a ring (not loose stones) however you can not
request a certain color or clarity you get what ever comes. I had to keep
going back until I found the one I wanted. I saw a range from 1.00ct to
1.19ct in the Regal H&A line and color from I to G I did see one come in
with F color. The Regal line are the "better diamonds" if you will that
sams sells. Also the round cut is the only one set in a platinum setting
and there is only one setting to choose from. If you don't mind waiting and not having a lot of choices as far as setting goes then this could be the
way to go. They also sell a VVS2 round H&A for $6500 also set in platinum. They do sell 1/2ct ant 3/4ct also. They also have princess cut stones set in 18kt. The cert is pretty detailed however there is no info on the flaws so I got that info from the jewler. Anyway I am very happy with my purchase.
I did purchase a warranty for $100 for 2years so if the diamond comes loose
or I loose it because of workmanship they will replace w/same or better or
give me my money back. I may get a new setting at sometime but at least I have the diamond I have been looking for. Thanks everyone and hope you all
have a great holiday.

Veronica,

Just wondering... how did you get the specs (particularly the crown and pavilion angles) then? Thanks!

It is on the report. There is a diamond drawing w/the percentages however
nothing about what the flaws are maybe I used the the wrong wording (plotting). Is that what you wanted to know? sorry if I wasnt very clear

Yes, that was what I was wondering about. I guess I didn't realize that IGI gave the angles. That's very cool! BTW, it sounds like a gorgeous stone!

Bogus, that stone sounds to be gorgeous. Even if the color is lower than GIA would grade it, that is still a really good deal on an ideal cut stone. (Not that it is lower, but IGI can be inconsistent. Although I have heard they are getting better.) Congrats.

Shay
