My girlfriend would NOT have ended up with this kind of a E-ring without all of your advice, and I just know she'll love it. I would describe her as fun, trendy, and hip but not modern or contemporary. With the square cut (a very unique "Radiant Princess" with facets from both styles) straight prongs, and clean lines, I really really think it fits her personality and sense of style. I also noticed that it's almost just like Colleen's ring (aka CMCWILL) here, where she had a nice square radiant/princess cut, just like yours!
