I'm in the beginning stages of scouting out a pave anniversary band. I want it in white gold, and about 3mm wide. I spoke with one jeweler today who said that pave should only be worn as an occasional dinner ring because stones are frequently lost if worn as an every-day type ring. How much stock should I put into that statement? I want the flowing look of pave, but is there another style that would prove more durable and still give that encrusted "pave" look of stones curving over the edge of the ring? I don't think I'd like channel set with hard borders, so that's out.
