Just wanted to share a pendant that Wink recently made for me. The stone is a 13.17ct Amethyst, cut by Richard Homer. The pendant was hand made by Wink's benchman, Bei Van Tiet, of 18K gold.

It's a truly beautiful piece, and was relatively inexpensive! The stone is showing very dark in the picture, but it's a vibrant purple.

LOL, and another "secret identity" bites the dust.

I am always amazed to see the pictures from a client whose screen name I did not know. Sometimes I get mental images of who the poster may be, and in the last few weeks I have referred to two posters as ladies who were in fact men. Yesterday I read your response (Cold Fusion)in the what do you want as an internet shopper thread and knew that I would have to make a real effort to meet your expectations. Now I see that you are a return client who has been very happy with me. (I still am working toward the level of perfection that you stated you want.)

I am probably going to have to set up a data base so that I can remember who is who, I get so confused.

Thank you for the kind words about Bei's work. He is quite a study in determination. A refugee from Vietnam he came to work for me speaking no English and still all these years later is not very good at it. His family escaped while we were trying to buy their way out and you really do not want to know the travails they went through to get to the States. Some occasionally criticize the crudeness of his hand made work, but most appreciate the beauty as you do. He now owns and operates a small Vietnamese food market and makes jewelry as a sideline, mostly for our small Asian community. His hand made 24kt chains are heavy and beautiful, I only wish I had a market for them here in Boise. I am honored that he still will do work for me and that I was able to have been here when he needed me, it is one of life's many treasures.

I know how you feel Wink. I'm currently working on redoing an intranet site at work, and I've had to ask the same questions, and listen to feedback. You're not going to be able to please everyone, but there are some things people will agree on 100%.

My wife is now the proud owner of two of Bei's pendants, and i'm about as nitpicky as people come. Not a time when she wears one of them passes without someone complimenting her on it. More importantly though, she loves it, and it makes her happy. And isn't that what it's all about?

Exactly! If you ever get out Boise way let me know and I will be honored to host both of you (or either) to a fine steak BBQ, Wink style. Good meat, cooked the way YOU like it, and the added gift of my wife's company to make a good meal a feast. You'll have to let me know if you like wine, beer, or ice cold well water with your steak.

Sheesh ! What a stunner! Coldfusion, the stone and pendant are fabulous. I made the mistake of showing my father the newest Homer creation in my collection and he made a crack about making better use of my money .. something about real estate .. blah, blah, blah. Now, after seeing your piece, I want another Homer stone for a pendant/slide for myself! Don't tell Dad !!!!

I've visited the winkjones.com site, and must say I'm impressed. Winfield's seem to have an ability to make simple stone settings look so beautiful. He's a real expert in using metal to bring out the beauty of the stone. And when he adds on just one or two accompanying tiny colored stones, the entire piece of jewelry takes on a totally new meaning. Wow!

Thank you both for the kind words. I worked hard to make that site, and the main thing I have learned is that I need to hire a professional and stick to making beautiful jewelry.

The new one will be much better when it is finished, but the jewelry will be the same!
