Can't say my praises and thanks enough to all of you. I've read and learned much, but did not think I would ever post. We now I desperate... looking for comfort. I have educated myself the best I can over the last couple of months and am down to two stones. I would like to buy by Tuesday, July 6th. ADVISE WANTED SOON!: Stone 1. Round 1.65 ct. G SI2 7.67-7.6 x 4.62 depth 60.5 table 61 crown 13.9% Pav 43.1% Grd thin to medium plsh good to very good sym good fluor none culet none EGL Cert. PRICE $6,400 Stone 2. Round 1.3 G si1 7.05-7.12 x 4.23 dpth 60.4 tble 55 crown ? Pav ? grd thin to slightly think culet none plsh very good symmetry good fluor none GIA Cert. PRICE 6,500 I'm leaning toward #1 but my concerns are as follows: 1. is SI2, and the cut isn't as good as #2, but for the size the price is fantastic, also can I rely on the EGL cert? I live in Los Angeles and have spent plenty of time in the jewry marts to find these stones. They are with two different vendors so I can not put them side by side. COMMENTS GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE |

That's mean man! No, just kidding, I appreciate the reply. I went and looked at the 1.65 again, after I posted, I think am going that way. It's just that, going in I told myself I was not going to trade cut for size, and I feel I am doing that here. But not much and in an educated fashion. Thanks again. If you have any friends that want to chim in please tell them to. I'm about to sign off.

---------------- deseprate how do you know which one is the better cut ? did the vendors show you a sarin report ? is stone #1 a egl usa cert ? it is always harder to find a "mind clean" stone than a eye clean stone. |

I have looked at both. I a copy of the reports for both, with the spec.s (table, depth, etc.) as listed above. As far as the EGL USA, I don't know for sure. I know it's EGL, it says so. They are in L.A., and buy their diamonds in Antwerp. Does the EGL really make that big of difference?

---------------- diamond desperate, if you've seen the sarin reports, post what degree is on the pavil angle and crown angle that would help, if the cert is from egl isreal, then look out. most people think they are way over graded. it is always harder to find a "mind clean" stone than a eye clean stone. |

I only have the % for the 1.65. The page of the GIA cert copy that he gave me did not give those angles for the 1.3 stone.
