Hi.... I'm a rookie at all of this but a research fiend! I think I've found a decent performing stone but what about the price. $8750 to $9000 1.29c AGS Ideal 0 G VS1 Table: 55% Depth: 61.9% (isn't it a little sketchy that so many are just under 62?) Crown A: 34.9 Pav A: 40.9 Crown H: 15.7% Pav D: 43.1% Polish: Ideal Symmetry: Ideal Proportions: Ideal Culet: Pointed Girdle: Faceted (1% to 2%)...what does this mean? Any input would be greatly appreciated, I don't mind giving the dealer a fair profit but how do I know what's fair? -M |

Decent stone, not the absolute very best, but most probably a good performer. Price is also decent. Live long, Paul Slegers |

About the girdle: the "1%-2%" represents the width of the girdle as a percenatge of the diameter(by convention). Both the variation and the numbers seem "normal" among AGS0-s and you can easily check this. The depth could be more - up to 63% and still be called "ideal". Besides, in this size range a thick girdle would hide more weight than 1% more depth at the tip of the culet. All in all, the stone does not appear small for it's weight (comparing diameters) so I would not worry much about the depth percentage. The price seems in line with a quote for a H&A diamodns - something that not all AGS0 are, and is often regarded as an extra notch of quality. But... it is not very easy to find ideal cuts in this weigth range (below th 1.5 cts mark). This makes your stone a nice deal - the extra weight up to 1.5cts would not add allot to the aparent size... but would to the cost. I could not locate a piece matching grades and weight very quickly (and I would not expect many of this weight to pop up at any given time), but there is a close contender: F-VS1 of about the same size given 60% depth, H&A symmetry and 1k more ![]() Since there is no indication of "Harts and Arrows" about the stone you ahve listed, I would compare it with THIS ![]() Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen."
