What is the cut on this oval? |

There seem to be more facets on the bowtie than I've seen in modern ovals and pears.

Although I can't recall the names, I do recall that some companies cut extra facets on the bowtie to reduce the darkening effect. Seems like the cutter of this stone is one of them, and I am glad you posted, as I hadn't really understood that until i saw this picture...
I hope someone can answer your question, as i too am curious. I just think it's got extra facets, and may not really have a NAME per se....but who knows!

HI: Yes, please, any info. on this would be great--I LOVE ovals and wish to upgrade my present RB/ER to a large oval.
