Well, after having done a search on Mark Morrell on the boards here, I see that he is an extremely busy man. Can anyone tell me what the wait list time period is at this time? His site says that Mark will be on vacation until the 28th, so I will contact him then, but I am hoping someone "in the know" can fill me in before then.

Thanks!

hmm i dont know for sure but i could have sworn someone on here said last week he was booked til september or similarly? he is VERY busy and the waiting period can be long. someone waited 2-3 months i think they noted? run a search in the last week or so and see if you can find that post where it was discussed. good luck!

Thanks, Mara. I found that thread. Well, I'll call Mark on Monday and doublecheck the waiting period.

I have seen a few of Mark's jobs and they are worth the wait. I can't tell you they were inexpensive, but they were of superb quality. Many more well known jewelers and designers exist that do a very good job, too, but Mark's work that has come my way has been nothing short of extraordinary.

(Mark: Do you have my commission check ready???) Just joking.....

I know, I know. Patience is a virtue that I will have to develop. From all the pictures I have seen, it would be well worth the wait!

I have searched and searched, but I can't find a pre-made setting that incorporates all the details that are important to me, the most important one being a very low set diamond. Ideally, I'd love to get a setting custom made locally, but I'm in Bakersfield, CA and am not familiar with the jewelers here.

I'll call Mark when he returns on Monday and get all the details. Thank you both for your comments!

I am betting he will now have to take the phone off the hook on Monday. Give the guy a chance to settle in and get some work done. He does not have time to breathe on most days and Monday will be worse than normal since he has been gone so long.

He is booked up pretty solid for quite a while, but as David says, he is very well worth the wait. Two of my recent clients waited between five and six months for their jobs. Both are glad that they did!

Mrs. Jam:  Mark indeed does beautiful work.

If his time schedule doesn't fit yours, though, I'd heartily recommend the custom work done by Whiteflash too.  I also wanted a bunch of elements that I couldn't get without custom-designing my ring, and Whiteflash did an exceptional job with it.......so much so that I had them make my wedding ring too!

Thank you all for your comments and info. I will be purchasing a diamond in a few weeks, so I will use this time to seriously search for settings that I would be happy with. I just saw a beautiful ring on a lady this evening, and it turns out that there is a very skilled designer right here in Bakersfield. I will gather as much information as I can in the next couple of weeks before any final decisions are made. Thanks again!
