Anyone have a good picture of the Cartier and/or Mikimoto solitaire engagement rings? Anyone know of any real good knockoffs? (The ones I've seen are not good IMO, like the Whitefish--it looks nothing like the original from the side) Also, anyone familiar with 6 prong Cartier solitaire ring? I have seen the 4 prong in the store and thought that was their only style but on the website they show a 6 prong? Thanks alot, in advance.

Whiteflash.com has a 4-prong Cartier copy, I believe.

Superidealist posted a thread with rather nice Mikimoto rings in it, but no hand pictures... http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=15316&forumID=12&catID=&search=1&searchstring=&sessionID={3DBBB98F-BF9B-4C22-A10D-8C6D6AB5DBD2}

I ADORE that mobius-strip-shaped Mikimoto wedding set. We got our wedding bands from Cartier--the "declaration" design--but if I'd seen that Mikimoto band it would have been a very strong contender. I looked and looked for a band based on the mobius-strip concept, but everything I saw looked awkward and ugly. If only we'd known about the Mikimoto! It didn't occur to me to check them out--I think of them as a place for pearls, not rings. (I'm sort of embarrassed to have bought rings from Cartier, actually. I'm about as far as you can get from a fan of name brands, but we tried on about a million wedding bands and the Cartier one was the only one we really liked. The bands are solid and heavy, and unlike the diamond rings, they're only overpriced in the hundreds of dollars, not the thousands, so we decided to go with it.) (Sorry, I know this is irrelevant. Just venting. And don't tell my DH--he would feel hurt if he thought I liked any ring better than my wedding ring.)

Hmm...my ring is from Cartier and I'm not embarrassed. I know their diamond is good but not the best, but I wanted the setting and so we got it. I've posted some pictures in the thread Bad Pictures.

Findingnemo- Your ring is beautiful! Would you be at all willing to take a couple more shots (oblique, another side shot) and post them? I would really appreciate it --thanks so much!!
