I am looking for a good stone to make a big commitment I have been offered the stone below at a reasonable price but have concerns over the table size based on some infomration read elsewhere. Thoughts very welcome about the over all description of the stone. well....by the numbers, it's a very poor table size. I would not purchase a stone with that large of a table, as your stone could look dull and glassy. In any event, it won't perform like a stone with a smaller table. THAT SAID, if you think the stone is pretty, and it's a good price, then there is nothing wrong with purchasing it! Beauty is subjective!

There are plenty of rules based on a couple of those "numbers" alone. You may want to take a look... on this page (LINK) - it makes a good example for where such evaluation stop serving. This said, one can go a long way by numbers alone. Table and depth say precious little about a tone - the pair (73-81) you posts reads "about average" (quoting THIS standard) but from here to deduce what your stone looks like is quite a ride. You may find very good explanations both about the light return issue and the AGA standard on the respective sites, and on the couple pages of the "Fancy Shapes" tutorial here. The gals are correct, however, I'd still never buy a princess with a table that big.
