 I am so glad I found this site a few days ago! I really need some opinions on my wedding band that we had custom made through our jeweler. I really wanted a 9 diamond, 3 points each, shared-prong, white gold band. Because my e-ring is 6 prongs, I could not find a shared-prong band that would fit flush with my ring. The flush fit is very important to me so we decided to get a band custom made. I sent my e-ring away for 7 weeks and recently got it and my wedding band back. The wedding band does fit perfecly flush with my e-ring and it does include 9 diamonds, 3 points each. My concern is the prongs. They seem to be all different sizes and shapes. You can't really tell from far away, but the difference is obvious close up. I'm not sure if it is normal to have different size prongs on custom made bands. I guess I didn't really think about it beforehand and thought the band would have small dot-like prongs like I have seen on eternity bands. I also thought that maybe the prongs had to be spread out to make the band curve around the bottom prong of my e-ring. It's hard for me to face these concern because after going through this process I really wanted to love the wedding band. But I have these nagging doubts and wanted to get others' opinions. Thanks for your reply. I'm beginning to think the designer did the best possible with what there was to work with. If I had chosen larger diamonds or more diamonds, the designer probably would not have had to stretch the prongs out as far to secure two diamonds. I wish I had known about this problem ahead of time b/c I would have been fine with adding more diamonds to make the prongs smaller. Does anybody know how they make prongs on hand-made bands? It looks to me like they place the diamonds down and then almost pour the gold over top and try to shape it. I'm guessing that because my prongs are different shapes and sizes. I keep trying to take a closer picture, but I can't. It took me hours just to figure out how to post those 2 pictures! I think I am going to try to be happy with the band and continue to keep an eye out for a shared-prong band in a store that will fit flush with my ring. I heard Memoire makes low sitting shared-prong bands. Does anyone know which stores carry that brand?
