I found a diamond I am really considering buying and was hoping for some help and any opinion any one may have on the appearance of this one- here are the details: 1.18 ct G color IF 62 depth 57 table thin to medium faceted VG polish and symmetry culet none crown angle 34.8 pavilion angle 41.2 it registered 3.5 on the HCA...which doesn't seem to good. Very good light return and spread but only good fire and scintillation. any thoughts...thanks in advance oh - and I know Internally Flawless isn't price thrifty or visually different - I just want something unique. thanks |

Generally speaking, diamonds that score under about 4 on the HCA will be good performers. You probably got a comment of, "Buy if the price is right". So, it will probably really depend on the price asked for the diamond. I found a diamond with the same general specs (1.18, G, IF, 57% Table, 62% depth) offered by a couple of Vendors for around $8500. By dropping the color grade one step, and adding about $500 more you could get an Ideal cut like this one listed by Blue Nile: http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?pid=LD00225902 Same carat weight, same clarity, and AGS0 proportions. ![]() Why use a big word when a diminutive word would be succinct! |
