I just bought my wife a tycoon cut ring for our 15th annivesary and want to make sure I did not over pay for this type of ring, I have 30 days to decide. Any way here are the specs:

center stone weight 1.02 carat
cttw 1.5 carat
clarity grade VS2
color grade I
depth 69.0%
table 81%
price $11,000

I am new to this forum and diamond rings, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

WOW!!! I don't see many Tycoons here! They are a fantastic looking stone!!! Well, as far as overpaying....did you over pay for an I Vs2 ordinary ol' emerald (which I know this is so not...but it's the closest stone I can think of), yes. Did you overpay for an I vs2 tycoon, probably not... I'm surprised the table is very large...but If you love it...and it performs well...then I think you did good!

I don't know much about tycoons but you could probably learn a lot by typing "tycoon" into the PS search engine - it pulled up a bunch of posts

She helped with picking it out and it looked very beautiful on her finger. She just doesn't know when I plan on giving it to her, she wants to be surprised. Not knowing alot about diamonds I am a little nervous about spending that much and it not being worth it. Thanks for you response.
