I am thinking about using this A. Jaffe setting in white gold for a princess cut diamond around .75 carrats. Has anyone ever bought something from them? Are they a good quality setting? Also, does anyone know about how much this will be, they do not give prices on their website. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have seen that mounting in person, as my local jeweler carries A. Jaffe mountings. As the photo shows, it is a substantial, well-made mounting. As for price, I do not know. Obviously, in the gold versus the platinum, it should be pretty reasonable -- they might just "get 'ya" with the little "surprise" diamond and, of course, the A. Jaffe brand name. You can contact A. Jaffe for retailers in your area and I would go and "price shop" a few stores. Bring the photo with you in case they don't have it in stock.

The first thing that strikes me is that is a very tall setting. If you're buying this for someone else who hasn't seen the setting yet, you might want to get someone to ask about high settings (womens' pants pockets are really small, rings that high just make it harder :P). They're just not as practical.

Yes, I know, I'm a mathematician/computer science person. Still, I've seen settings with that lovely look that aren't quite as high, although not with those cute surprise diamonds.
